An Application For The Content-Based Visual Retrieval Study

Abstract

This paper presents the Imtest software system created for the study of a number of methods used in the content - based visual retrieval upon the color characteristic. The problems studied with the help of this system are: content-based image query, extraction of color region and the spatial querying by one or more regins, having into consideration the relative and absolute spatial localization. The study of the implemented algorithms was made from the point of view of the retrieval quality and of the complexity, in different cases of transformation and quantization of the color spaces, and by diverse imagistic collections.
