Abstract

In this paper, system modeling is studied; simulation and faults diagnosis of a linear system using five tanks. The system was modeled using differential equation and the model was implemented using Matlab/Simulink. A method of generating residuals of a linear system, subject to unknown inputs, is proposed. The impact of disturbances and uncertainty may create difficulties at the decision stage of diagnosis (false alarm); this has resulted to use a robust Unknown Inputs Observer (UIO). The faults will be isolated by using a bank of UIOs in the framework of the Dedicated Observer Scheme (DOS).Finally, simulations results of the five tanks system are given to show the effectiveness of the proposed methods
