Linear Discrete Systems Of Monotonic Type

Abstract

This paper treats and develops the concept of monotony for discrete systems. The monotony concept was introduced by Solodovnikov (1954) for the continuous systems. Afterwards, the system monotony problem has been treated in the frequency domain by Meerov, Popov and other Russian researchers. This paper approaches the discrete system monotony by the pole and zero location method. The aim of this paper is to present mainly how the zeros and the poles of the discrete transfer function influence and determine the monotony and the non-monotony of the system. Having in view the positive results obtained following the line of correlation between monotony and pole-zero location, the elaboration of analysis and design method for the linear continuous/discrete systems in monotonic system class is possible.
