Voltage Control of DC Generators based on PWA hybrid systems

Abstract


The main objective of this paper is the control of the voltage of a DC generator. Tothis aim, firstly, we identify the system using PieceWise Auto-Regressive eXogenous (PWARX)models due to their ability to approximate any nonlinear system with arbitrary precision.Secondly, we propose to design the one-step-ahead predictive control based on the identifiedmodels. The proposed control strategy exploit the same principle of the multimodel adaptivecontrol with switching. With the proposed strategy, a regulator is synthesized for each submodelusing one of linear systems control approaches and the selection of the best controller is doneautomatically based on the actual regressor which designates the well-partition of the regressionspace. The results of the proposed identification and control approaches are satisfying.
