Medical Image Processing With Neural Network Algorithms

Abstract


At present, the trend is toward developing intelligent medical systems, to better match medical technology to the needs of the user to improve the quality of healthcare, and to provide an objective evaluation of healthcare practices which have traditionally been individualized after initial training. In this work, image processing techniques are performed on two levels: basic processing level for image enhancement and image filtering, and advanced level for pattern recognition tasks. This paper proposes a method for filter implementation using neural networks algorithms. These algorithms are implemented in SNNS, C and Java, and were tested on Computed Tomography (CT) Medical Images.
