Abstract
The paper deals with L2-norm order reduction,i.e. with approximation
of a given LTI continuous time system S = (A,B,C) by a lower order system
S = ( A, B, C) such that the L2-norm of the error system is small.
The development is made for input balancing but a dual solution for
output balancing can be easily obtained. A lot of numerical experiments
performed validate the proposed numerical procedures.
