Abstract

The research work focuses on developing a Dual Input Non-Isolated SEPIC Converter (DINISC) sourced either from a battery or Solar power or both to charge the EV. The converter effectively uses solar power as one of its sources for charging the vehicle. To conquer challenges like fluctuating voltage range in solar panels, depleting battery charge and dynamic change in load requirements, the design and analysis of DINISC become essential in utilizing the available resources effectively. The DINISC is designed in such a way that it acts as a buffer taking in all the variations from the source side and our proposed DINISC is capable of delivering output power catering for the needs of the dynamic load. Since in an EV, the converter is the essential component, a complete analysis of the DINISC circuit becomes mandatory.  Henceforth an in-depth small signal analysis under its various modes of operation along with stability concerns is addressed in our research work. A detailed software simulation is carried out in MATLAB –SIMULINK environment. The merits of the converter include high voltage gain, less ripples in the input side
